She is an avid reader, movie buff, and travel enthusiast. Of Sand and Bone is her first novel.

She lives in the United States.

Writing has always been part of my life. Words have life and rhythm and color. The power of print can’t be denied. The right combination at the right time can move generations, and I find that exciting and fascinating.

D. M. SMITH

D. M. Smith was born in Boston and has lived in New England, California, and Texas. Educated as an engineer, Smith started two technology companies, and has since embarked on a second career in writing, sometimes pursued while driving around the American Southwest.

To me, a book without ideas is a waste of my time.
